Safety in production is inseparable from fine maintenance, meticulous and meticulous in order to maintain stability, when the equipment is stable, production can flourish, the benefits will be like a spring.
In December last year, the chlor-alkali plant was overhauled, eliminating a large number of hidden dangers and stable production and operation. This year, the company plans to stop and overhaul the TCE device from January 13 to 17 to maintain stable production. Before the overhaul came, corrosion perforation and partition collapse occurred in 4#9# chlorination tower one after another. TCE plant personnel carried out emergency treatment on the two reaction towers: transferring mother liquor to prevent environmental pollution, separating the system, allowing the other 8 towers to operate at full capacity, and resuming production of maintenance equipment is imminent.
The chlorination tower is the most important reaction equipment in the chlorination process of TCE plant of our company, with a total number of 10. The equipment was put into production earlier and has a running time of about ten years. In recent years, the equipment often has the failure of aging perforation. After more than two years of treatment, the bottom of the tower has been basically replaced, but the rest of the tower still has the risk of aging corrosion, which seriously affects the safety production.
From the end of December last year to the beginning of January this year, the 9# tower was restored twice. Due to serious corrosion and leakage at the welding joints, it was decided to thoroughly overhaul the 4# tower first. Solving problems is like fighting. It is better to cut off one finger than to hurt one finger. It is better to deal with all problems temporarily than to solve one at a time, so as to fundamentally eliminate potential threats.
On January 7, the overall hoisting of the 4# tower body was elevated. It can be seen intuitively that the filler grid plate was seriously corroded and had completely collapsed. The surrounding support had become very thin. The maintenance personnel wore protective masks, and the protective masks polished the tower body to further check the problem. The wall of the tower is a layer of black organic residue. The friction of the grinder immediately produces rolling brown smoke. The maintenance personnel squeaked and grinded one observation point after another against the turbid air. The dense smoke dissipated, and the tower body showed a slightly concave and convex, silvery white and translucent tower wall. This is the true face of the tower body. The technicians brought an ultrasonic thickness gauge to test the tower wall and recorded the data. The bottom of the tower was not polished, looked shiny, and was not corroded, but in order to ensure the thoroughness of the overhaul, these were also tested. The testing equipment is expensive and the gloves used for operation are black. In order to ensure the accuracy of the data and avoid the defacement of the testing equipment, the maintenance personnel chose to take off the gloves for operation. There is still sticky asphalt residue left at the bottom of the tower. Unconsciously, the hands are as black as children playing with mud.
After the test, the tower body of 4# tower is not seriously corroded from the data, and production can be resumed only by replacing the grating plate and refitting the packing. After reporting and discussion, the maintenance plan was finally determined, with data as the basis, scientific maintenance was carried out, avoiding blind replacement of the tower body. At present, the repair work of the grating plate of the chlorination tower is being carried out in an orderly manner and will be put into production soon.
