Chlor-alkali industry downturn in Sino-Thai chemical net profit fell 60% last year

Zhongtai Chemical (002092) disclosed its performance bulletin on the evening of the 21st. The company's 2013 operating income was 12.046 billion billion yuan, an increase of 69.35 year-on-year; the net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was 0.102 billion billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 62.19; the basic earnings per share was 0.084 yuan.
The company said that the revenue growth was mainly due to the commissioning of the first and second phases of Fukang Energy, and the increase in the output and sales scale of the company's main products. The decline in profits was mainly due to the impact of the domestic and foreign economic environment, the continued downturn in the chlor-alkali industry, and the sharp drop in the price of the company's main products compared with the same period last year. In addition, financial expenses and selling expenses increased significantly during the period compared to the same period last year.
